Here come the poets! We are back at it for First Friday with two amazing local poets Eric Fair-Layman and Kyle David Congdon.
Come on down to Birdhouse Books at 7pm to enjoy their performances, browse the books and soak in the art! Stop by Short & Sweet upstairs and pick up some delicious treats before the show.

Eric Fair-Layman is a living poet and spoken-word performer (stage name Papasquatch) based in Portland, Oregon. He has recently self-published a fundraiser book of poems called A Prequel to Cathartic Musings & DIY Revenge Poetry. His work appears… well, nowhere really. Not to be discouraged, he is active at open mics (even runs one, the Humble Poets Open Mic), offers the occasional revenge and cathartic writing workshop, tells myths, facilitates men's work, parents two (grateful) teenagers, and has a kick-ass girlfriend.

Kyle David Congdon is a PNW Native who lives his life on the razor's edge. They are best known for their now ancient collaborative works 365 Days of Angst, The Diet of Wolves & Elephants, as well as Ghost Town Anthology Vol 1 & soon to be Vol 2. He was the former & only host of Bad Wolf Open Mic for it's stellar 2 yr run. Which is an eternity in Portland Standard Time. Once someone was brazen enough to trust him not to read smut to Barbara LaMortacella on KBOOs Talking Earth Radio... They haven't been asked back since. You can find him rifling through his unfinished manuscripts in existential bedlam between their once a month visits to Ghost Town Open Mic.
