We are delighted to welcome Rachel King and Lisa Gluskin Stonestreet to Birdhouse Books this First Friday!
Rachel King is the author of the novel People Along the Sand, the linked short story collection Bratwurst Haven, and the poetry chapbooks Between Work and Light and City Walks. Her short stories have appeared in One Story, North American Review, Green Mountains Review, Northwest Review, and elsewhere. When not writing or working her day job as an editor at a nursing nonprofit, Rachel enjoys reading, gardening, kayaking, walking around cities, and going on road trips.
Lisa Gluskin Stonestreet (lisagluskinstonestreet.com) is the author of The Greenhouse (Frost Place Prize) and Tulips, Water, Ash (Morse Poetry Prize). Her poems have appeared in journals and anthologies including Plume, Zyzzyva, and Kenyon Review, Nasty Women Poetsm and The Bloomsbury Anthology of Contemporary Jewish American Poetry. Lisa reads, writes, edits, teaches, and works one on one with writers from her backyard Poetry Shack. She has terrible handwriting but is surprisingly good at math.
